Verstappen Snubs Team Orders After Perez Crash

Perez Crash Leads to Verstappen Snub

Perez Claims Crash Was Unintentional

Monaco, May 26, 2024 - A collision involving Sergio Perez and both Haas drivers forced the Monaco Grand Prix qualifying session to be red-flagged. Sergio Perez has walked away unharmed.

Perez's Red Bull teammate, Max Verstappen, was on a flying lap when the incident occurred. Verstappen was forced to abandon his lap and was visibly frustrated. He was later seen having a heated discussion with team boss Christian Horner.

In the post-qualifying press conference, Verstappen was asked about the incident. He said that he was "not happy" with Perez and that he "didn't understand" why he had crashed.

Perez, however, claimed that the crash was unintentional. He said that he had "lost control" of his car and that he was "very sorry" for the incident.

The incident has led to speculation that Verstappen may defy team orders and not allow Perez to pass him in the race. Verstappen is currently leading the championship and is seen as the favorite to win the race. Perez is currently third in the championship and is hoping to secure his first pole position in Monaco.
