Younger voters turn away from Conservatives
The Conservative vote share in the youngest seats including many educated urban areas with large student populations dropped from 51 percent at the 2019 election to 43 percent in the 2024 election.
Labour makes gains, but falls short
Labour's share of the national vote at this election at 33.7 percent was only 1.6 percentage points higher than in 2019 when the party had its worst election result since 1935.
Regional variations
The Conservative vote share was highest in the East of England (57.2 percent), whereas the Labour vote share was highest in London (48.1 percent).
